Acceleration-dependent self-interaction effects as a basis for inertia

چکیده
The paper pursues two aims. First, to revisit the classical electromagnetic mass theory and develop it further by making use of a corollary of general relativity that the propagation of light in non-inertial reference frames is anisotropic. Second, to show that the same type of acceleration-dependent self-interaction effects that give rise to the inertia and mass of the classical electron appear in quantum field theory as well when the general relativistic frequency shift of the virtual quanta, mediating the electromagnetic, weak, and strong interactions between non-inertial particles, is taken into account. Those effects may account for the origin of inertia and mass of macroscopic objects.

Acceleration-dependent electromagnetic self-interaction effects as a basis for inertia and gravitation
The classical electromagnetic mass theory is revisited by taking into account an important but overlooked consequence of general relativity that the average velocity of light propagating in non-inertial reference frames is anisotropic. It is shown that acceleration-dependent electromagnetic self-interaction effects are responsible for the inertia and gravitational interaction of the classical e...
متن کاملNumerical simulation of hull and propeller interaction in acceleration maneuver
Prediction of a ship’s trajectory during a maneuvering motion is so important. In this study, the acceleration maneuver for a twin-screw vessel is directly investigated using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) environment and unsteady RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) solver. For this purpose, the self-propulsion and acceleration simulations with hull and propeller interaction for the well-...
متن کاملExperimental investigation of the gyroscopic and rotary inertia effects on the chatter boundary in a milling process
Experimental examination of the gyroscopic and rotary inertia effects on the chatter boundary in a milling operation is the chief aim of this article. The equations of motion of the tool vibration are derived based on Timoshenko beam theory and Hamilton principle by considering gyroscopic moment, rotary inertia, velocity-dependent process damping and radial immersion effect. For a range of dept...
متن کاملManual skill generalization enhanced by negative viscosity 1 2
18 Recent human-machine interaction studies have suggested that movement augmented with 19 negative viscosity can enhance performance and can even promote better motor learning. To test 20 this we investigated how negative viscosity influences motor adaptation to an environment where 21 forces acted only in one axis of motion. Using a force-feedback device, subjects performed free 22 explorator...
متن کاملEngine Torque for Acceleration of Rotational Mass in Vehicles
This study presents analysis of errors of calculations for engine load during vehicle acceleration phase, resulting from some simplifications or errors in selection of mass moment of inertia. A varied impact of the assumed, on unknown basis, values of the mass moments of inertia on calculation error was shown. According to the author, more accurate results of calculations of coefficient of rota...
